The Social Studies Department at Daniel consists of a group of dedicated professionals put in a great deal of effort to make sure that all students are successful. We have a variety of course offerings available, allowing interested students to pursue their own tastes. The basic progression of courses consists of Geography, World History, U.S. History, and Government and Economics. These are offered on several levels, including honors and advanced placement. In addition, Advanced Placement European History is an option for those students who wish to explore the subject on a deeper level.
The members of the Social Studies faculty are Andrew Akers, Kirk Ellison, Kate Floyd (chair), Aaron Hylkema, Tommy Plumblee, Daniel Taylor, Bill Wilson, David Weathers, and Ryne Welch.
